Viljandi maavanem tunnistas 26. veebruaril 2010 riigihankes “Avalik liinivedu Viljandi maakonna bussiliinidel” edukaks aktsiaseltsi ATKO Trans pakkumused. Riigihangete seaduses sätestatud tähtaja jooksul keegi hankemenetluses osalenud pakkujatest maavanema otsustust Riigihangete Ameti juures asuvas vaidlustuskomisjonis ei vaidlustanud.
“Seaduses sätestatud n.-ö ooteaja möödudes on pooled alustanud ettevalmistusi hankelepingu allkirjastamiseks,” ütles Viljandi Maavalitsuse jurist Marju Lepmets. “Enne lepingu lõplikku allakirjutamist on vajalik veel saada Maksu- ja tolliameti kinnitus maksuvõlgade puudumise kohta ning täiendada hankelepingu projekti pakkuja ja pakkumuse andmetega.”
Lepingu kohaselt hakkab AS ATKO Trans 1. juulist 2010 vedama reisijaid kõigil Viljandi maakonna bussiliinidel – liinigruppides Põhja-Viljandimaa, Lõuna-Viljandimaa ja Viljandi linnalähiliinid. Hankeleping vedajaga sõlmitakse kaheksaks aastaks, perioodiks 1. juuli 2010 kuni 30. juuni 2018.
